UAB's Shannon James Ealy Appointed To NCAA Softball Committee

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- Shannon James Ealy, Senior Associate Athletics Director at UAB since November 2007, has been appointed to the NCAA Division I Softball Committee.
Ealy's term on the 10-person national committee is effective immediately and will run through September 1, 2013.
As a member of the committee, Ealy will assist in the evaluation, selection and seeding of teams for the NCAA Division I Softball Championship. Committee members serve as NCAA representatives and administer regional and super-regional sites, along with staffing and assigning officials for tournament games and attend the Women's College World Series.
At UAB, Ealy handles internal operations and oversees football, baseball, softball and athletic operations & facilities. Additionally, Ealy is responsible for managing all external units: Blazer Boosters,, Marketing, Media Relations, Ticket Operations and Sales, and he serves as the liaison to UAB's multi-media rights holder, ISP Sports.
Ealy is the sport administrator for the Blazers' softball program, which achieved its most successful year in program history and advanced to its first-ever NCAA appearance this past spring.
