Barsalona Joins Canada Women's National Team

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Former Blazer Danya Barsalona has been selected to attend the Canadian Women's National Team camp in Alliston, Ontario, in preparation for an upcoming international friendly. Canada will face China PR on Thursday, Sept. 30 at BMO Field in Toronto, Ontario.
Barsalona is among 23 players at the camp and one of four new players who did not attend the two most recent camps in Italy and Germany.
Barsalona, a four-year starter for the Blazers, completed her eligibility at UAB in 2009. The Stony Creek, Ontario, native tied for the second most goals on the team with four during her senior campaign and also scored four goals as a junior. Her best season at UAB was during her sophomore year in 2007 when she tallied seven goals and three assists.
