David Isabelle Named UAB Student-Athlete Of The Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- David Isabelle, the redshirt sophomore quarterback of the Blazer football team, has been selected as the UAB Student-Athlete of the Week.
An art major now in his third year at UAB, Isabelle not only excels on the field but also carries a 3.0 GPA in the classroom.
Through two weeks of action, the Huntsville, Ala., product ranks 13th in the nation in rushing with 124 yards per game. He set a Conference USA quarterback rushing record with 194 yards in the season opener against Florida Atlantic. Isabelle has also accounted for five touchdowns this year with three on the ground and two through the air.
Isabelle and the Blazers return to Legion Field on Saturday to take on in-state foe Troy in their second home game of the season. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. CT as UAB looks to bounce back from last Saturday's road loss at SMU.
The UAB Student-Athlete of the Week is highlighted each Sunday night on Blazers All-Access, which airs locally at 11:35 p.m. on ABC 33/40.
