Hello again Blazer fans!
We've had a couple more birthdays since last blog! Stephanie Henderson and CJ Winship both had birthdays recently! For all the birthdays we have had this year one of our assistant coaches, Rebecca Whittle, has made the birthday girls some goodies. For my birthday, it was cupcakes, and for Steph and CJ, she made brownies. But the weird thing with the brownies was that we all saw them in the locker room before practice and when we got back in after practice, they were missing! No one claimed to have taken them, but they were nowhere to be found. Then, a couple days later they appeared back in the locker room with some brownies gone. I still don't know who the culprit (or culprits) was. I have my suspicions but do not know for sure. Moral of the story, be careful where you leave a batch of brownies.
Something else that's going on with our team is some community service! Our team is got together last Friday to help out with the annual Suits 4 Success drive. This is a clothing drive to collect business attire clothing for women who are not financially able to afford clothing for job interviews or a work environment. We worked from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the collection site.
Now onto soccer. We are currently 4-4. Our record doesn't really exemplify how good we actually are. We all know that we are better than a 4-4 record, and we just need to start showing it. We had a bye weekend last week, which was perfect timing because it gives us a little break before we start conference play. We leave this week for Texas and Colorado where we play UTEP and Colorado College. Those are going to be a couple of tough games, but I know we will do well. This will be my second time flying to Colorado College and it's an awesome trip. Colorado is a beautiful state. UTEP... I can't say that this is among my favorite trips. We never like losing to them so we are going to make sure that does not happen. Hopefully, we will come back with a 2-0 conference record.
Well this is just a little recap of what's been going on with our team and our season. And if anyone reading feels like taking a trip to Colorado or El Paso this weekend, come and support your Blazers!
