BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Grambling Laboratory High School standout Bath-Sheba McMahon has signed a National Letter of Intent to play with the UAB women's basketball team for the 2010-11 season, head coach Audra Smith announced Monday. McMahon is the fourth signee of the class, along with Destiny Samuels, Karisma Chapman and Alabama transfer Jocelyn Shaw.
"Bath-Sheba is a very athletic player that has the ability play multiple positions," assistant coach Daryl Oliver said. "In addition to her scoring capabilities on the low block and the high post, she will help us continue to improve defensively as we pursue a conference title."
A four-year starter for the Lady Kittens, McMahon received all-state honorable mention and all-district first team honors last season. She was named her team's Most Valuable Player for the 2009-10 season after averaging 15 points, 12 rebounds and eight blocks per game.
The Minden, La., native also lettered in track for four years. She received a bronze medal in high jump at the Delhi, La., track meet and received Grambling's Most Outstanding Field Award last year.
