C-USA Championship First Round Results
HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The UAB women's golf team is in 10th place after the opening round of the Conference USA Women's Golf Championship at Canebrake Country Club. Junior Carolyn Cochran shot a 77 in the first round to lead the Blazers and currently ranks tied for 26th.
Tulane leads the field with a first-round score of 290, while Memphis is second with a 295 and East Carolina's 296 rounds out the top three. On the individual leaderboard, Tulane's Ashley McKenney, Tulsa's Sarah Elliot and UTEP's Shang Huang are in a three-way tie for first with a score of 70.
UAB carded a 330 in the first round. Freshman Ana Martin carded an 81 for the Blazers' second-best round and currently ranks 39th. Junior Jaime Brabb is tied for 42nd with an 83, while freshman Sloan Davis shot an 89 and junior Lindsay Taylor carded a 91.
The tournament continues on Monday with round two teeing off at 8 a.m. The championship concludes on Tuesday with the final round.
