UAB Heads to Tulane for Final Road Game

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The UAB women's basketball team will play its final road game of the regular season at Tulane on Saturday at 4 p.m. CST.
Tulane leads the overall series, 18-9, and is 8-4 against the Blazers at Fogelman Arena. UAB has won the last two against the Green Wave and five of the last six. The Blazers captured a 51-49 victory last January in Birmingham and knocked off Tulane, 67-56, when they met in January of 2008 in New Orleans.
UAB (11-13, 5-7 C-USA) is coming off a 68-59 loss at UTEP on Thursday. The Blazers are 3-8 on the road this season, including 2-5 in C-USA contests.
Freshman guard Jala Harris is one of three Blazers averaging double figures, leading the team with 17.3 points a game. Senior forward Tamika Dukes is the team's second-leading scorer at 12.4 points a game, and junior guard Amanda Peterson rounds out the trio with 10.4 points a game.
The Green Wave (20-5, 9-3 C-USA) has won four in a row, including an 86-61 win over Memphis on Thursday to take over first place in the conference. Tulane has been especially tough at home, going 11-3 at Fogelman Arena.
Chassity Brown leads the Green Wave with 13.9 points a game. Danielle Nunn has been the hottest shooter with a 53.5 percentage from the field, while Tiffany Aidoo leads the team from beyond the arc, shooting 47.2 percent.
