Khalilah Watson Named Student-Athlete Of The Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Khalilah Watson, a freshman member of the Blazer women's basketball team, has been recognized as the UAB Student-Athlete of the Week.
Watson carries a 3.66 GPA as a sociology major at UAB. She is one of three Blazer freshmen who were valedictorians of their high school class, joining teammates Amber Jones and LaKenya Lowe.
On the court, Watson has made 14 starts this season and is one of three Blazers to have played in all 21 contests. The Savannah, Ga., native is averaging 3.3 points and 3.5 rebounds per game in her rookie campaign.
The UAB Student-Athlete of the Week is highlighted each Sunday night on Blazers All-Access, which airs locally at 11:05 p.m. on ABC 33/40.
Watson and the women's basketball team (10-11, 4-5 C-USA) are back in action Friday at 7 p.m. when they host UCF in the Blazers' WBCA Pink Zone® game to raise breast cancer awareness.
