Pascale Pinard Named UAB Student-Athlete Of The Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Pascale Pinard, a junior defender for the Blazer women's soccer team, has been selected as the UAB Student-Athlete of the Week.
A standout in the classroom, Pinard has earned the Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Medal and been named to the league's academic honor roll in each of her first two years with the program. She carries an overall GPA of 3.95 as an exercise science major.
On the field, the product of Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, leads UAB with five assists in 2010. She also scored her first career goal earlier this year against Southern Miss and owns seven total points on the season.
After playing four straight games at home, Pinard and the women's soccer team (6-6-2, 2-2-2 C-USA) head back to the road this weekend for league matches Friday at SMU (7 p.m. CT) and Sunday at Tulsa (1 p.m. CT).
The UAB Student-Athlete of the Week is highlighted each Sunday night on Blazers All-Access, which airs locally at 11:35 p.m. on ABC 33/40.
