Hello Blazer fans!
AllyB again. We had a couple of games this past weekend. If you weren't able to attend, you missed out on an exciting finish in Friday night's game against Marshall. We went into overtime and Tiffini Turpin was able to finish the game-winning goal. It was good to finish that one off. Sunday we also went into overtime with ECU. After double overtime, neither team was able to score, so we ended in a tie.
Other than our games, we had a few exciting things going on with our team. First, more birthdays! My BFF Marie Yempuku had a birthday on Friday. Also on Friday was the greatest mom in the whole wide world's birthday, my mom. Then Saturday was Cara Eby's birthday! So many birthdays! I love birthdays.
There were also some recruits that came for a visit this weekend. When recruits come, they get to see the school and see what being a UAB women's soccer player is all about. One of the current freshmen is assigned to be their host for the weekend and just let them experience a little bit of what being a freshman on the team is like. It's always fun to have new faces around and meet the people who could potentially be a part of the team.
This weekend we are traveling to Dallas where we play SMU on Friday, then we fly to Tulsa for a game Sunday. We had a few members of our team that have family in Texas so make sure y'all come out to the game! I hope everyone has a fantastic week!
