UAB Seeks Sixth-Straight Win Sunday at UCF

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The UAB women's basketball looks to continue its hot streak as it travels to UCF on Sunday. The Blazers and Knights will tip off at 4 p.m. (CT), and the game will air on ESPN2 with Pam Ward and Kayte Christensen on the call.
UAB leads the overall series, 10-3, but the Blazers have dropped the last two to UCF. The Blazers fell in both meetings last season, dropping a 74-67 decision in Birmingham on Jan. 10 before falling, 74-59, in Orlando on March 1. Prior to that, the Blazers had won eight in a row against the Knights. Overall, UAB is 6-2 when playing at UCF.
UAB is coming off a hard-fought 49-46 victory at Southern Miss on Friday, marking the fifth win in a row for the Blazers. The Green and Gold are 9-6, 3-0 in Conference USA, and have won seven of their last eight.
The Blazers are led by freshman guard Jala Harris, averaging 14.5 points and 3.5 assists a game. Senior forward Tamika Dukes is second on the team with 12.8 points a game and leads the team with 7.2 rebounds a game. Dukes has reached double-figures in the last 10 games and in all but one contest this season.
UCF (3-9, 0-3 C-USA) is coming off a tough loss to Memphis on Friday, dropping a 49-47 decision for its third-straight Conference USA loss. The Knights are led by Marshay White and Emma Cannon, each scoring 12.5 points a game. Cannon also leads the team with 10.2 rebounds a game, while White has been the team's leading three-point shooter at 42.9 percent from behind the arc.
