BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- UAB first baseman Luke Stewart picked up another honor Tuesday when he was recognized on the College Baseball Foundation's National All-Star Lineup for his performance last week.
Stewart -- the reigning Conference USA Co-Hitter of the Week -- hit .727 (8-for-11) over four games last week and helped the Blazers to a three-game sweep of Savannah State.
The junior hit three home runs, including a pair of homers in Friday's series opener with the Tigers. He drove in 10 runs for the week and collected multiple hits in all four games and multiple RBI in three of them.
UAB has now had two players this year honored on the CBF's National All-Star lineup. Junior catcher Digger Towe was recognized on the list two weeks ago.
Stewart tallied another hit and another RBI Tuesday in UAB's 17-7 victory over Samford. The Blazers and Bulldogs will meet again Wednesday at Samford with the first pitch set for 6 p.m. (CT).
