BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The UAB men's golf team closed play at the Seminole Intercollegiate on Sunday afternoon, finishing tied for ninth overall in the three-day, 54-hole event with an 898 (296-294-308). Junior Adam West also played well, closing the Intercollegiate with a six-over par 222 (74-72-76). Like Timmons, West began the round well, collecting a birdie in two of his opening four holes. However, he went on to record back-to-back bogeys on the fifth and sixth hole, and would not get another birdie for the rest of the round.

Vanderbilt (863) carded the low score of the afternoon with a one-under par 287, vaulting the Commodores to the top of the leaderboard to claim a one-stroke victory over second-place Virginia (864). Florida State, the host school for the event and ranked No. 22 overall, finished third with a four over par total of 868. Ole Miss, who was leading coming into the final day, finished round three with an 11 over par to fall into fourth with an 869, while Mississippi State and No. 21 Arkansas tied for fifth at 876.
