UAB Concludes Regular Season With Sunday Game At UCF

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The UAB women's basketball team will play its final game of the regular season on Sunday when it takes on UCF in Orlando, Fla. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. ET at the UCF Arena and the game will be televised live on CBS College Sports.
Sunday will mark the 13th meeting between UAB and UCF on the hardwood, including the second time this season. The Blazers have won 10 of the 12 previous meetings, but the Knights got a 74-67 win at UAB earlier this season.
The Blazers are coming off a 71-52 loss at Southern Miss this past Thursday and will enter Sunday's game with a 10-18 overall record, including a 5-10 mark in Conference USA.
Senior Britney Jones is UAB's leader on the court, averaging a team-high and league-best 18.6 ppg overall and 21.0 ppg in conference games. Jones' 18.6 ppg is the 28th-best average in the nation.
Sophomore guard Amanda Peterson, who was recently named to C-USA's All-Academic team, is making a big impact on the offensive end for the Blazers with 11.8 ppg. Peterson has put 69 three's through the net this season, which ranks 32nd in the nation in three-pointers made and is the third most three-point baskets made in a single season in UAB history.
UCF has a 12-16 overall record and a 10-5 mark in league games. After dropping three straight, the Knights got back in track with an 82-67 win over Memphis this past Thursday.
Sophomore forward Emma Cannon is UCF's top performer and has been one of the premier players in C-USA all season. Cannon is averaging a double-double with 15.4 points and 11.0 rebounds per game overall, including 16.5 points and 11.9 rebounds per game in league play.
