Pascale Pinard Named UAB Student-Athlete of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Sophomore women's soccer player Pascale Pinard has been selected as the UAB Student-Athlete of the Week.
Pinard has started 26 games in her two-year career as a defender at UAB, including 10 games for the Blazers so far in 2009. She has helped this year's regionally-ranked squad to an 8-4 record as part of a Blazer defensive unit that is allowing 1.42 goals per game.
The Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, native is an exercise science major who owns a 3.9 GPA. As a freshman in 2008, she was named to the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll and also earned the league's Academic Medal.
The UAB Student-Athlete of the Week is highlighted each Sunday night on Blazers All-Access, which airs locally at 11:35 p.m. on ABC 33/40.
After splitting two games at home this past weekend, the UAB women's soccer team hits the road this weekend for two more Conference USA contests. The Blazers will visit Rice on Friday and Houston on Sunday.
