Women's Soccer Hosts UTEP On Sunday

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The UAB women's soccer team is set to play its second Conference USA game in three days when it hosts the UTEP Miners on Sunday. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. CT at West Campus Field.
The Blazers enter the match with a 7-4-0 overall record, including a 1-2-0 mark in league games. UAB's last outing resulted in a 2-0 loss to Colorado College this past Friday.
Sophomore forward Tiffini Turpin leads nine Blazers that have scored this season with three goals. Senior forward/midfielder Danya Barsalona and sophomore forward/midfielder Laura McCalla have tallied two goals apiece for UAB.
UTEP comes to Birmingham having won its last six games and holding an overall record of 9-2-0. The Miners are 3-0-0 in C-USA matches, including a 3-2 win at Memphis this past Friday evening.
Chelsea Winbush has scored a team-best six goals this season for UTEP, followed by Skye Schultz and Tameka Sumter with five goals each. As a team, the Miners have found the back of the net 27 times through 11 games.
Sunday's contest has been designated the UAB National Alumni Society and Blazer Women's Athletic Society game. Free admission will be granted to all members of both organizations.
