Blazers' Manlow Wins Twice, Advances to Round Of 32 At ITA Regionals

NEW ORLEANS ----- UAB sophomore Danny Manlow won a pair of singles matches here Thursday to advance to the Round of 32 at the Wilson/ITA South Regional Men's Tennis Championships.
Manlow, in his first year with the Blazers after transferring from Wofford College, improved his singles record to 9-1 this fall with his two wins on the opening day of play.
Manlow also advanced in doubles play as he teamed with Daniel Moser to defeat Sam Grace and Evan Magill of Centenary, 8-2.
In singles, Manlow defeated Alexander Rupsertsson of Louisiana-Lafayette in his first match, 6-2, 6-2. He later downed South Alabama's Dauw Kruger by 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 score.
Manlow will now meet Mississippi State's Louis Cant in the Round of 16 on Friday.
Moser, also a sophomore, lost his Round of 64 match, falling to Alabama's Ricky Doverspike, 6-3, 6-3.
The tournament will run through Sunday. The field includes 80 players from 14 schools.
