Blazers Set To Face C-USA Foe Houston Sunday

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The UAB women's soccer team will be searching for its third straight league win on Sunday when it takes on Conference USA Foe Houston at John O'Quinn Field. The Blazers and the Cougars are scheduled to kick off at 1 p.m. CT.
UAB enters the contest with a 9-4 overall record and a 3-2 mark in league play. The Blazers have won their last two conference games, including a 2-1 win at Rice this past Friday.
Sophomore forward Tiffini Turpin paces UAB with five goals this season, while senior forward/midfielder Danya Barsalona, junior defender Marie Yempuku and sophomore forward/midfielder Laura McCalla have added two goals each.
Houston has a 3-8-1 record overall, including a 1-3-1 conference record. The Cougars fell to Memphis, 2-0, in their last outing this past Friday evening.
Jessica Zavalza, Avery Blasi and Jessica Rathweg are leading Houston's offensive attack with two goals apiece on the year. Three additional players have scored one goal each for the Cougars.
