Sucher Tied For Second At Carpet Capitol Collegiate

ROCKY FACE, Ga. - UAB senior Zack Sucher carded his second consecutive under-par round and is in a tie for second overall entering the final round of the Carpet Capitol Collegiate. Sucher, who is at three-under par 141 (70-71), leads a Blazer team that is ninth overall with a 588 (299-289).
Sucher and junior Adam West, who also carded a one-under par 71 in the second round, helped improve UAB by 10 strokes from Friday's first round 299. As a result, the Blazers are in ninth overall in the 18-team field, and are ahead of the likes of Florida (10th), UCF(11th), Texas Tech (T12th), North Carolina (T12th) and Alabama (14th), among others.
Sucher (70-71) will enter Sunday's final 18 holes in a three-way tie for second with Georgia Tech's David Dragoo (72-69) and Tennessee's Chris Paisley (69-72). All three are chasing Kyle Stanley from Clemson, who owns a two-stroke lead with a five-under par 139 (73-66).
West's 71 on Saturday followed a three-over par 75 on Friday, and improves him to a tie for 26th overall entering the final 18. Sophomore Blake Watts was the third Blazer to hit par or below on the afternoon, finishing with an even par 72. He is in a tie for 35th overall with a 148 (76-72).
Blake West, the twin brother of Adam, is in a tie for 72nd overall with a 153 (78-75), while senior Cathal O'Malley rounds out UAB with a 160 (81-79).
