BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Blazer fans in and around Birmingham should enjoy better radio coverage this Saturday when UAB travels to Knoxville to face the Tennessee Volunteers. The Blazers ISP Sports Network's flagship station in Birmingham, WWMM live 100.5 FM, has been working through technical issues that impeded the strength of its signal during last Saturday's game.
"We appreciate the Citadel Broadcasting team's efforts to make sure all our fans in the Birmingham-metro area are able to follow the Blazers on the radio," said Tony Grillo, the General Manager of the Blazers ISP Sports Network.
"We are hopeful the issues that reduced our coverage area last weekend during the UAB-Florida Atlantic game will be resolved by the time the Blazers take the field against the Vols this Saturday," Grillo said.
The Blazers are slated to meet the Tennessee Volunteers this Saturday for the third time in history. The teams last met to open the 2005 season, and the Vols held on for a 17-10 win.
"I hope to see plenty of Green and Gold this weekend in Knoxville," said David Crane, the Director of Broadcasting for the Blazers ISP Sports Network. "But if you are unable to make the trip, we're optimistic the great staff at WWMM live 100.5 FM has worked out the problems to help our fans back home enjoy the game," Crane said.
UAB and Tennessee are set for an 11:30 AM kickoff from Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, and the Blazers ISP Sports Network will be on the air beginning at 10 AM with pre-game coverage.
