Women's Golf Finishes Ninth At Crimson Tide Classic

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The UAB women's golf team wrapped up play at the Crimson Tide Classic by finishing in ninth place with a team total of 949. The Blazers shot a 309 during the third and final round at the Ol' Colony Golf Course Sunday.
Alabama took home the tournament title by tallying an 861 over three rounds. LSU finished second with a score of 903, while Ole Miss rounded out the top three with a total of 906.
Freshmen Jaime Brabb and Lindsay Taylor led UAB and tied for 23rd place in the individual standings with 54-hole scores of 233. Brabb was consistent throughout the tournament, shooting rounds of 77-78-78. Taylor recorded rounds of 80-78-75 to help pace the Blazers.
Sophomore Carolyn Cochran carded a three-day score of 239 to tie for 42nd overall. Junior Christina Wentworth tied for the 57th position with a total of 244, while junior Alyson Mitchell shot a 255 to tie for 67th place.
"We played much better today," said UAB head coach Kim Wilcox. "We improved our score during each round of the tournament. Today, we were really focused and went out there and played well."
The Blazers' next competition will be at the Conference USA Championships, beginning April 15 in El Paso, Texas.
