Blazers In Ninth After Day Two Of Crimson Tide Classic

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The UAB women's golf team is in ninth place after the second round of the Crimson Tide Classic Saturday. The Blazers recorded a second-round score of 317 to move their team total to 640 going into the third and final round Sunday at the Ol' Colony Golf Course.
Host-school Alabama leads the tournament with a total of 582 after two rounds. LSU is in second with a score of 608, followed by Ole Miss in third at 609.
Freshman Jaime Brabb continues to lead the Blazers with a 36-hole total of 155 to sit in a tie for 20th in the individual standings. Freshman Lindsay Taylor is tied for 32nd with a score of 158.
Junior Christina Wentworth is tied for the 50th position after carding a two-round score of 163, followed by sophomore Carolyn Cochran tied for the 54th spot with a score of 164. Junior Alyson Mitchell is in 68th place after shooting a 174 over two rounds.
"We played much better today," said UAB head coach Kim Wilcox. "Our freshmen have stepped up and played great throughout this tournament and the spring season. We hope to continue to improve our play during the last round and move up in the standings."
The Blazers will conclude their competition at the Crimson Tide Classic with the third round on Sunday. The tournament will start at 8:30 a.m. Sunday with a shotgun start.
