BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The UAB football team endured cold and windy weather as it practiced approximately two hours on Tuesday afternoon in preparation for its upcoming game versus East Carolina.
The Blazers spent the majority of Tuesday concentrating on the game plan for East Carolina. UAB head coach Neil Callaway was pleased with the team's efforts as the Blazers get ready for their final home game of the season.
"I think today went pretty well," said Callaway. "Overall, the effort was good. We've been focusing in on East Carolina and the things that they do offensively and defensively. Hopefully, we'll be a little further along tomorrow."
With Saturday being UAB's last home game of the year, it will also mark the final game at Legion Field for 14 seniors. Callaway says the team has talked about Senior Day, but does not want it to distract from the preparation for East Carolina.
"We've been talking about it the last couple of weeks," said Callaway. "We talked about wanting to finish on a good note for several reasons, including doing it for the seniors. We're talking about it, but at the same time, we are making sure we are ready to go out and play East Carolina."
UAB and East Carolina are scheduled to kick off at 6 p.m. CT Saturday at Legion Field. The game will be televised by Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast (CSS).
Saturday's game will be carried on the Blazers ISP Sports Network. It can be heard locally on WWMM 100.5 FM radio in Birmingham.
