BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - UAB senior Carmen Guzman is one of 45 women's basketball players from across the nation that have been invited to participate in the Women's National Basketball Association's Pre-Draft Camp on March 30-31 in Cleveland, Ohio. The event will be held at Cleveland State University just days before the WNBA draft on April 4.
"We are very proud of Carmen," said UAB head coach Audra Smith. "She is very deserving of this invite and has earned it through her hard work."
The two-day camp will consist of on-court sessions, displaying the player's abilities and talents to WNBA coaches and general managers in attendance.
"I am confident that Carmen will play exceptionally well and represent UAB in a positive manner," said Smith. "She is thought of very highly by coaches from around the country, not just because of her ability, but also because of her character. I think there is a good possibility that she will be drafted."
Guzman, a four-year starter for the Blazers, excelled during her senior season, including being named the Conference USA Player of the Year and a finalist for the Kodak/WBCA All-America team.
