BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - David Sigler, a senior H-back on the UAB football team, has been named this week's UAB Scholar-Athlete of the Week. Sigler is a two-time member of the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll and had 250 yards receiving for the Blazers this season.

Sigler had 17 total receptions this season including one for a touchdown. He averaged 14.7 yards per catch and 25 yards per game.

A native of Albertville, Ala., Sigler appeared in at least 10 games in each of his four seasons at UAB.

The Blazers completed their 2007 season with a loss at Marshall last weekend to conclude the campaign with a record of 2-10.

Sigler is a pre-business major at UAB.
