McFadden Named Conference USA's Co-Player Of The Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - UAB women's basketball senior Crystal McFadden has been named Conference USA's Co-Player of the Week, announced the league office Monday. McFadden had back-to-back 20-plus point outings this past week, helping the Blazers to a 1-1 record that included a 69-56 win at Illinois.
The guard from New York, N.Y. began with 25 points on 8-of-10 shooting and 7-of-7 from the charity stripe in UAB's win at Illinois this past Wednesday. She also contributed five rebounds and one steal against the Fighting Illini.
McFadden followed that performance with 24 points on 8-of-12 shooting and 7-of-8 from the free throw line in the Blazers' loss at Auburn on Saturday. She added four boards, two assists, one block and one steal to UAB's efforts as well.
McFadden, who is back on the court after missing last season with a knee injury, is averaging 19.3 ppg and 4.3 rpg.
McFadden shares the weekly honor with Rice's Maudess Fulton. Fulton averaged 20.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game as Rice went 1-1 over the weekend.
