BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Adam Truitt, a senior offensive lineman on the UAB football team, has been named this week's UAB Scholar-Athlete of the Week. Truitt has started in 25 games in his career, including seven this season, and was a member of the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll last year.

A native of Hoover, Ala., Truitt has helped the Blazers gain more than 1,100 yards on the ground this season for an average of 111.1 yards per game.

Truitt is a history major at UAB.

The Blazers are 2-8 on the year and will travel to play Memphis for the `Battle for the Bones' rivalry showdown on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
