Head coach Mike Davis
On first game of the season:
"I thought that we had the first game jitters. We were excited to get out there and were taking quick shots. I knew for the first time having the fans in the arena and with the excitement of what we are trying to do with our guys we would be a little rushed and hurried."
On Vaden, who scored all of his 22 points in the second half:
"He can score in a number of different ways. The thing I was happy to see tonight was how he didn't press. There is a lot of excitement surrounding him here and I thought he did a great job of coming back in the second half."
On the positives he took away from the game:
"I thought in the second half we did a great job of moving the ball. We finished the game with fourteen turnovers, and that could be lower. I was also happy that we had 19 offensive rebounds, shot 58 percent in the second half, and had seventeen assists on 30 field goals."
On how much the depth helps this team:
"I think our depth is what really helps us. This year we have a chance to rest guys and also guys who can help us score when others are struggling. They are able to come in and score some baskets for us and buy our others players some time to heat up."
On how he felt his team responded in the second half:
"At halftime, we talked about how there are going to be some nights where you don't shoot the basketball well, but you have to continue to execute and play together as a team. And I thought we did a great job of that in the second half."
