** UAB and Houston were meeting for the sixth time, but the first since the 2004 season. The Blazers came into tonight's game holding a 4-1 lead in the all-time series and a 3-0 advantage in Birmingham. Houston's win makes the series record now stand at 4-2 in favor of the Blazers.
** Rashaud Slaughter's 33-yard punt return in the first quarter was his longest return of his career.
** UAB's game captains were Sam Hunt (offense), Bryant Turner (defense) and Tony Shepherd (special teams).
** Kicker Swayze Waters kicked his 17th field goal of the season (in 20 attempts) in the first quarter which ties for second on UAB's single-season list. Nick Hayes kicked 17 three-pointers in both the 2002 and 2003 seasons, respectively. The Blazer record for field goals in a season is 19 held by Rhett Gallego (2000).
** Frantrell Forrest recorded a reception of more than 50 yards for the second-consecutive week. Forrest caught a 68-yarder from QB Sam Hunt in the first quarter after registering a 59-yard grab from Hunt in last week's win over Tulane.
** Frantrell Forrest's four-yard TD reception from Sam Hunt late in the second quarter was Forrest's fourth touchdown catch of the season, all of those coming in the past four games.
** UAB travels to East Carolina next Saturday, Oct. 27 before returning home for its final two home games of the 2007 season (Nov. 3 vs. Southern Miss and Nov. 10 vs. UCF).
