** UAB and Tulane played for the sixth time in history but for the first time since the 2004 season when the Green Wave won a 59-55 shootout in New Orleans (game was played at Tad Gormley Stadium). The 114 points scored between the two teams in the '04 contest represent the second-highest total in Conference USA history.
** With the win, UAB evened the all-time series with Tulane at 3-3.
** UAB linebacker Joe Henderson recorded his second interception of the season and the third of his career with his first quarter pick. Henderson returned the interception 15 yards.
** Redshirt freshman Frantrell Forrest's 92-yard return for a touchdown in the second quarter marked the first UAB kickoff return for a score since Oct. 29, 1994 (42 yards by Derrick Ingram vs. Morehead State) - a stretch of 144 games. The 144-game drought had been the fifth-longest active dry spell in the country. Only Missouri (273 games), Air Force (259 games), Rice (253 games) and Colorado State (243) had gone longer than the Blazers without a kickoff return for a touchdown.
** Despite being the first since the 1994 season, the 92-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by Frantrell Forrest was the fourth for a score in Blazer history and also represented the longest.
** Swayze Waters' second quarter missed extra point was the first of his career. He had made his first 17 before missing with 4:08 remaining in the second period.
** The 59-yard pass completion from QB Sam Hunt to WR Frantrell Forrest in the third quarter represents UAB's longest play from scrimmage this season.
** Joseph Webb's 17-yard touchdown reception from Sam Hunt in the third quarter was Webb's third TD catch of the season.
** Dixon Dorand, 21, of Montgomery, and Riley Susanne Carpenter, 20 of Butler, were named Mr. and Ms. UAB for 2007 during the UAB Homecoming game festivities. Dorand is a junior majoring in biology and history while Carpenter is a junior majoring in biology.
** Freshman linebacker Mike Tashman registered his first career interception in third quarter.
** PK Swayze Waters' 47-yard field goal in the fourth quarter was his eighth of the season of 40 yards or more. He remained perfect from beyond 40 yards having connected on all eight attempts.
** QB Sam Hunt passed for a career-high 262 yards in the game.
** WR Joseph Webb registered his first career 100-yard receiving game of the season and the second for the Blazers this season. The UAB sophomore finished the contest with 106 yards on six receptions.
