NORFOLK, Va. (AP) - Valdas Vasylius scored 10 early points and helped Old Dominion jump to a 23-8 lead in the first half, spurring the Monarchs to a 56-42 win over UAB Monday night.
The Blazers (6-5) also shot poorly - just 30 percent. But the Monarchs scored 14 points off turnovers and outrebounded UAB, 40-31.
Brian Henderson led Old Dominion with 14 points and Vasylius finished with 11. The senior from Lithuania now has 1,002 points in his college career.
UAB's Wen Mukubu scored 14 and Paul Delaney III scored 12.
