Baseball to Hold Intrasquad Game on Saturday

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.-- The UAB baseball team will hold its "Green and Gold" intrasquad game on Saturday at 12 p.m. at Young Memorial Field. The game is held as part of the team's family weekend and is open to the public.
About 32-35 families are expected to be on hand to join UAB fans in getting their first sneak peak of the 2007 UAB baseball team.
The Blazers return 21 letterwinners from last season in addition to welcoming in 14 newcomers to the UAB family. On Thursday, head coach Brian Shoop announced that the team will be playing a three-game series at Arizona State, February 23-25, a trip he hopes enhances the family atmosphere, similar to this weekend.
Action will get underway at 12 p.m. on Saturday.
