BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- Chad Jackson, who has worked in several areas of the UAB Athletics Department since starting with the program in 1999, has been named Associate Athletics Director for Compliance, according to an announcement by Director of Athletics Watson Brown.
Jackson, entering his seventh year as a staff member, has served as Assistant AD for Internal Affairs for the past year. He worked as a marketing assistant at UAB when he first began with the Blazers in 1999. Since that time, Jackson has served several areas of operation at UAB: marketing, promotions, event management and compliance.
"Chad is extremely professional and has been very loyal to UAB," said UAB Senior Associate AD Lee Moon. "He has demonstrated a great understanding of NCAA rules and regulations and his attention to detail makes him a perfect fit for this position."
In addition to his experience with the Blazers, Jackson has worked for two minor league baseball teams -- the Columbus (Ga.) RedStixx and the Birmingham Barons.
Jackson will begin his new duties heading the compliance area immediately. "I'm grateful to coach Brown and coach Moon for the confidence they have shown me while encouraging me to take this position," said Jackson. "We look forward to continuing a supportive atmosphere in helping our staff members, coaches, student-athletes, and fans acknowledge the obligation to work within the framework of the NCAA."
Jackson is a native of Opelika, Ala. and a graduate of Auburn University.
