BIRMINGHAM, Ala.-- The UAB women's basketball team participated in the Super Sports Saturday events held at the Lakeshore Foundation, last Saturday, July 16 in Birmingham.

The Blazers volunteered their time, working with disabled children from ages 7-18, playing games such as tennis, basketball, soccer and tag.

"It was a truly wonderful experience," said Blazer guard Laura Waldrop. "The children were fun and they were excited to have us there. We all enjoyed playing with the children and building friendships. We can't wait until we have another opportunity to return and help out again."
