- Alabama evened the season series with the Blazers by taking a 5-4, walk-off victory in Tuscaloosa on Wednesday evening. UAB had defeated the Crimson Tide by a score of 7-1 back in February at Young Memorial Field.
- With its victory at Southern Miss on Saturday, UAB has now won 13 Conference USA games this season, matching its league win total from 2004. With one more victory, the Blazers will have their most conference wins since 1998. If UAB can win three of its final six conference games, it will set a new school record for single-season C-USA victories.
- With six conference games remaining, UAB is tied for fifth place in the league standings with East Carolina. Each team takes a 13-11 C-USA mark into this weekend's series at Young Memorial Field. The Blazers then travel to Louisville next weekend for their final series of the season against the Cardinals who are currently just 1/2 game behind UAB in the conference standings at 12-11.
