Blazers Wrap Up Regular Season Schedule at Louisville

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The UAB baseball team travels to Louisville this weekend for its final three-game Conference USA series of the season. Game one is scheduled for Thursday at 6 p.m. at Patterson Stadium with Cole Helms (3-3, 4.72 ERA) taking the mound for the Blazers. Follow all the action live with Gametracker at www.uabsports.com.
The Blazers enter the weekend with a 30-23 overall record after being swept by East Carolina last weekend in Birmingham. The Pirates exploded for an 18-5 victory on 22 hits Friday night before edging UAB 8-6 on Saturday and 6-5 in Sunday's series finale. UAB will be looking to put an end to its season-long four-game losing streak.
The Blazers are in seventh place with a 13-14 Conference USA record and have clinched a spot in the Conference USA Tournament for the second consecutive season.
The Cardinals are 29-21 overall with one final non-conference game remaining on Tuesday evening against Evansville. Louisville sits one spot ahead of the Blazers in the conference standings with a 13-13 record.
The Blazers are 9-17 all-time against Louisville which includes to losses to the Cardinals last season in Birmingham.
Jeff Brown (7-3, 4.60 ERA) is scheduled to take the mound for the Blazers in Friday's game two at 6 p.m. UAB's Saturday starter is still yet to be determined.
