UAB Heads To South Bend For Meyo Invitational

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --- The UAB track and field team travels to South Bend, Ind. for the 15th annual Meyo Invitational on Friday and Saturday hosted by the University of Notre Dame.
"The Meyo Invitational is one of the two or three premier meets in indoor track," said Blazers' head coach Ray Stanfield. "Notre Dame has put together a great line-up and this is a great opportunity for our girls to showcase their talents. This is a good meet for us and we're excited to have this opportunity."
UAB has had strong performances at the their first two meets and are looking to continue that trend this weekend. The Blazers have already set four new school records this season at the Cougar Opener and the Saluki Booster Invitational.
The meet begins Feb. 4 with the women's long jump at 5:00 p.m. and continues on Feb. 5 at 10:00 a.m. with sprint preliminaries. Finals begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
UAB will be competing against Michigan, Wisconsin, Indiana, Michigan State, Ole Miss, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, Missouri, Arkansas, Butler, Vanderbilt, host school Notre Dame and Conference USA rival Marquette.
