Blazers To Host Marshall In Three-Game Series

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - UAB will host Marshall in a three-game baseball series over the weekend at Young Memorial Field. Friday, the teams square off at 6 p.m., Saturday's game begins at noon and Sunday's first pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
Saturday's game, which was originally scheduled for 2 p.m., has been tabbed "Fan Appreciation Day." All fans will receive free admission.
UAB is off to a 5-0 start and is coming off a 3-2, 13-inning victory over cross-town foe Birmingham-Southern last Tuesday at Young Memorial Field. UAB carried over a three-game winning streak from last season and has now upped that number to eight. The Blazers also own an eight-game home winning streak in that stretch.
Marshall (1-5) is coming off an 8-6, 13-inning victory over Charleston Southern last Sunday at the College of Charleston Tournament. The Thundering Herd fell to George Mason 11-4 last Saturday and lost a 14-4 decision to the College of Charleston last Friday at the tournament.
Tickets to Friday and Sunday's games are $5 for adults, $2 for children ages 3-12, children 2 and under are admitted free and UAB students are admitted free with a valid student ID.
