BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The first day of the 2004 Conference USA Men's Soccer Tournament, presented by Dr. Mark Lynn and Associates, in Louisville was postponed due to severe weather on Thursday. The two opening round matches have been rescheduled to Friday. In the first match, USF plays Saint Louis at 1:00 p.m. (ET), followed by Cincinnati against Charlotte at 3:30 p.m. (ET). UAB, which drew a first round bye in the tournament after a second place league finish in the regular season, faces the Cincinnati-Charlotte winner at 3:30 p.m. (ET) on Saturday.
Should UAB win in the semifinals, it will have a short turnaround to play for the title. The final, scheduled for 2 p.m. (ET) Sunday, will be aired on the Conference USA Television Network, which is seen locally on College Sports Television. Don Russell will call the play-by-play, and Bill McDermott provides the color commentary. Conference USA's official website, www.ConferenceUSA.com, will provide updates, box scores, recaps and photos.
