BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - UAB baseball has released its 2004 schedule, head coach Larry Giangrosso announced Thursday. The Blazers will play a 34-game home schedule which includes six NCAA Tournament teams from last season. In addition, the 2004 schedule features games against Southeastern Conference foes Auburn, Alabama and Mississippi State, and a total of six in-state teams.
"We are very excited about the schedule we have in 2004," said Giangrosso. "The schedule features a good mix of in-state teams, SEC opponents and games in Conference USA play. We have an attractive 34-game home schedule which includes games against Auburn, Alabama, Mississippi State and some of the top teams in C-USA. We have also added Purdue for a weekend series early in the year. It will be a very challenging schedule, but it will be one that's fun to play."
