Baseball Team's Game Against Jacksonville State Cancelled

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The UAB baseball team's game with Jacksonville State, scheduled for Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Young Memorial Field, has been cancelled due to inclement weather in the area. The game will not be rescheduled.
UAB next travels to East Carolina for a three-game Conference USA series against the Pirates in Greenville, N.C., beginning Friday at 7 p.m. (ET). Saturday, the teams will square off at 6 p.m. (ET) and Sunday's first pitch is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. (ET).
UAB (23-23, 8-15 Conference USA) is coming off a 6-5 victory over Charlotte in game two of a doubleheader last Saturday at Young Memorial Field. The Blazers took two games out of the three-game set with the 49ers as UAB also won the Friday night contest 8-3. The Blazers rank second in Conference USA in opposing batting average (.255) and stolen bases (75), and are tied for third in runners picked off (9).
East Carolina (28-20-1, 14-10 C-USA) is coming off a 7-3 victory over Southern Miss last Sunday in Greenville. The Pirates took two games out of the series with the Golden Eagles. East Carolina is currently fifth in the C-USA standings.
