BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Lucas Trotter of the UAB baseball team was named the Conference USA Pitcher of the Week, the league announced.
The senior from Rehobeth, Ala. tossed a complete-game three-hit shutout against Saint Louis in his final appearance in a UAB uniform last Thursday at Young Memorial Field. Trotter recorded a career-high 13 strikeouts and issued only two walks in the Blazers' 8-0 win over the Billikens. With his 13-strikeout performance, Trotter set the UAB single-season record for strikeouts, posting 98 this season.
UAB (27-26, 12-17 Conference USA) closed its season Saturday by completing a three-game sweep of Saint Louis at Young Memorial Field.
