Baseball Team Ranked 27th In Collegiate Baseball Poll

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The UAB baseball team (17-3, 2-1 Conference USA) returned to the rankings this week at No. 27 in Collegiate Baseball Newspaper's NCAA Division I poll. The Blazers retook their previous poll position, as the team ranked 27th in the Collegiate Baseball poll released March 3.
UAB is coming off a 10-3 victory over Conference USA rival Cincinnati last Sunday at Young Memorial Field. The Blazers took two games out of the three-game C-USA opening series with the Bearcats.
The Blazers lead Conference USA in wins, opposing batting average (.217) and stolen bases (47). UAB is batting .314 as a team and has outscored its opponents 168-79.
The Blazers travel to Jacksonville Tuesday to take on in-state rival Jacksonville State at 6:30 p.m. UAB then goes to Tampa, Fla. over the weekend for a three-game C-USA series against South Florida. Friday, the teams play at 7 p.m. (ET), Saturday's game is at 1 p.m. (ET) and Sunday's first pitch is also scheduled for 1 p.m. (ET).
Saturday's UAB-South Florida game will air at 1 p.m. on Fox Sports Net Florida.
