BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --- The UAB women's soccer program is hosting a free youth soccer clinic on Saturday, Oct. 25, at 3 p.m. at West Campus Field. Alabama's own Leslie Gaston, of the WUSA's Atlanta Beat, will be hosting the free clinic, which will be open to the public.
The Youth Soccer Clinic will be held at West Campus Field, the home of the Blazers, on Ninth Avenue South and 11th Street. Paul Harbin, head coach of the Blazers, and several UAB soccer players will be assisting with the Youth Clinic.
In addition to the clinic, UAB will square off against its conference rival, the Memphis Lady Tigers, on Sunday, Oct. 26th at 2 p.m. In recognition for the youth players' and coaches' participation in soccer and our event, all team members and coaches in team apparel will be admitted to the game for free. Regular admission is $5 for adults and $2 for children under 12.
At the game, Gaston will be making a special appearance and will give a short presentation at halftime. In addition, Gaston and the Blazers will be signing autographs following the contest.
Along with this special appearance by Gaston, the first 300 fans in attendance will receive a pair of CHEERSTIX. Plus, UAB Blazer tattoos will be handed out to all kids. Blaze, UAB's mascot and the Blazer cheerleaders will also be in attendance.
