GREENVILLE, N.C.-----The UAB women's soccer team (4-5-1, 1-2-0) lost its second consecutive Conference USA game, falling to East Carolina, 2-1. The Blazers once again had the lead late in the match, but could not hold on.
UAB took the lead in the first minute of the second half, when Tara Kidwell passed to Liz Bosscher who headed it into the goal to put the Blazers up, 1-0. UAB held that lead until the 76th minute as Amanda Duffy scored on a cross shot to the corner of the net. Only a minute later, the Pirates took the lead for good as Duffy put it away in the lower right corner. It was Duffy's 28th goal of her career, making her ECU's all-time career goal scorer.
The Blazers next host Marquette in Birmingham on Wednesday, October 2nd, at 7 p.m. at West Campus Field.
