UAB's Lisa Nowoslawski Honored By CoSIDA

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. -- UAB women's soccer goalie Lisa Nowoslawski has been named to the 2002 Verizon Academic All-District IV University Division first team, it was announced Thursday. The team was selected by members of CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America). Members of the first team will advance to the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration. This is the second year in a row that Nowoslawski has been named to the all-district team. She a2001 Verizon Academic All-America first team selection last season as well.
"I am very excited to see that Lisa has been recognized again this year," said head coach Paul Harbin. "She has been the perfect example of the term student-athlete. We have had some tremendous students and some tremendous athletes in our program over the past several years. Lisa is among the absolute best of both."
Nowoslawki has ended her career at UAB, but not before putting her name all over the Blazer record book. Nowoslawski is UAB's season leader in most saves (103 in 2001), highest save percentage (.824 in 2001), most save per game (5.15 in 2001), least goals allowed (22 in 2001 and 1999), and best goals allowed average (1.13 in 2001). She's also the Blazers' career leader in most saves (327), most minutes played (5,836) and most wins (29).
