BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The UAB football team was forced to practice indoors Tuesday due to wet weather conditions, as the team continued to look towards its Conference USA showdown with Southern Mississippi Saturday.
On Tuesdays, the Blazers normally go through a full-pad workout, but head coach Watson Brown feels the team should be in good shape due to the work the team got during the off week last week. He said the team will keep its regular schedule for workouts during the rest of the week.
"We were in pads three times last week during the off week, so we should be alright," said Brown. "We were in pads Sunday. This would not have been as physical of a Tuesday practice as normal anway since we had already had a good physical practice. However, you can only get so much out of it when you practice indoors."
UAB's kickoff with Southern Miss is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Legion Field. The game will be televised on Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast and will also be a part of the ESPN Game Plan package.
