BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The UAB football team worked out in full pads for just under two hours Tuesday in cool and rainy weather conditions, as the team geared up for its final regular season game against Conference USA rival Cincinnati.
UAB head coach Watson Brown actually welcomed the weather since cold temperatures are forecasted for Saturday's contest in Cincinnati.
"We have to get ready to play in this type of weather," said Brown. "It is very important. We can't let that be a factor in the game. We have been talking to the players about that, telling them they have to be ready for it."
Saturday's game is an important contest for both squads, as bowl implications may rest on the outcome.
The Bearcats are currently tied for first place in the league with TCU, East Carolina and Louisville, and Brown feels Cincinnati is certainly one of the best teams in Conference USA.
"Cincinnati is a good team," said Brown. "Physically, Cincinnati is one of the best teams in the league and we are closing the season playing two of the best teams in the conference. We just have to figure out a way to win."
Saturday's game is scheduled for a noon kick off and will be televised locally by College Sports Southeast.
