BIRMINGHAM, Ala.----- The UAB football team (5-5, 4-2 C-USA) practiced for two hours in pads and helmets in anticipation of its C-USA game with Louisville (6-4, 4-2 C-USA) this Saturday in Louisville, Ky. The Blazers, coming off a record-setting performance in a 36-29 victory over East Carolina on Saturday, now turn their focus to the Cardinals.
"They are a solid team and don't have a weakness," said head coach Watson Brown. "Their kicking game is real solid. They have an outstanding quarterback who makes play after play and their defense is one of the best in the league. I think we're going to have to play our best game to win."
After having two punts blocked, including one for a touchdown, UAB has focused on special teams in practice this week.
"We've spent more time on it," said Brown. "We have changed a few people around, not a lot, but a few. Some of our starters have been put back on special teams after having been taken off due to injury. We'll have to shore it up."
UAB's kickoff with Louisville is scheduled for noon (CT) on Saturday, November 23, at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.
