BIRMINGHAM, Ala.----- The UAB football team worked out just shy of two hours here Thursday as the Blazers continued their preparations for Saturday's Conference USA contest with East Carolina.
UAB (4-5, 3-2 C-USA) is currently tied for fourth in the league standings while the Pirates (3-5, 3-1 C-USA) come to Legion Field all alone in third place.
"I thought we had a good practice today," said Blazer head coach Watson Brown. "We're still banged up a little bit, but hopefully, we'll be ready to go Saturday."
UAB has beaten ECU two of the three times the schools have played, including a 16-13 decision in Greenville, N.C. two seasons ago. The last contest between the teams at Legion Field (11/6/99) resulted in a 36-17 Blazer victory.
The Blazers will have a light workout Friday afternoon as they wrap up their practice heading into Saturday's contest (2:05 p.m. CT), UAB's final home game this season.
